Razer announces a $500 limited-edition keyboard

Razer has unveiled the Huntsman Signature Edition, a new high-end tenkeyless mechanical keyboard. It will cost $499.99 and launch in a limited run of 1,337 serialized units on February 22nd.

The limited quantity is a nod to "leet" or "1337" speak, a longstanding piece of internet and gaming culture. This keyboard is positioned as a premium, collector-focused version of Razer's existing Huntsman line.

Premium materials define the build

The Signature Edition's primary upgrade is its construction. It swaps the plastic chassis of standard Huntsman models for a body made from CNC-milled, anodized aluminum.

It features a mirror-like finish on its underside and on special keycaps, like the one bearing Razer's triple-headed snake logo. Internally, Razer says it uses layered foam and sound-dampening materials to improve acoustics and key feel.

It keeps top-tier Huntsman gaming tech

Despite the premium build, the keyboard retains the core gaming features from Razer's current flagship. It is a wired USB-C keyboard built around the company's analog optical switches.

At $500, the Huntsman Signature Edition enters a rarefied tier of gaming peripherals focused on materials and exclusivity. It is significantly more expensive than even Razer's own top-performing models, like the BlackWidow V4, which has been praised for gaming.
