Samsung offers up to $900 trade-in credit for Galaxy S26 pre-orders

Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked is set for February 25th

Samsung will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25th at 1PM ET. The company is widely expected to announce the Galaxy S26 series at the event.

Ahead of the reveal, Samsung is offering an enhanced trade-in promotion. You can sign up now to reserve up to $900 in credit toward a pre-order of whatever is announced, likely a Galaxy S26 model.

The trade-in offer is $200 higher than usual

This $900 maximum is $200 more than Samsung’s current top trade-in value. Right now, trading a Galaxy S24 Ultra for an S25 model nets a maximum of $700.

By signing up for the promotion, you also get a $30 credit for accessories to use during your eventual pre-order. You can optionally enter a sweepstakes for $5,000 in Samsung store credit.

How to reserve your trade-in credit now

The actual pre-order window is not yet open. It typically opens within a week after Unpacked airs. However, you can start the reservation process immediately.

You need to visit Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked reservation website. There, you provide your name and email, and indicate your interest in a trade-in.

The form then asks you to select your current phone’s manufacturer and model from a dropdown menu. The manufacturer options include:

• Apple
• Google
• Other

The model lists cover devices from the last roughly five years. If your specific model isn't listed, you can select "Other."

What determines your phone’s trade-in value?

Samsung has not published specific values for this promotion. The final offer will be emailed to you closer to the pre-order date.

As a general rule, newer and higher-end phones command more credit. It is likely that trading in a recent flagship, like a Galaxy S25 Ultra, will be required to get the full $900.

After selecting your phone and submitting the form, you must scroll down and select what offers you want. Ensure "Trade In" is checked before your final submission.
