Arc Raiders Hurricane Map Condition Debuts February 24
Summary
Arc Raiders' Shrouded Sky update on Feb 24 adds a dangerous Hurricane map condition with strong winds affecting movement, combat, and loot.

Hurricane map condition hits Arc Raiders
Embark Studios has revealed a new Hurricane map condition coming to its extraction shooter Arc Raiders. The dangerous weather system will debut with the Shrouded Sky update on February 24.
The studio shared a first look in a website post and a teaser trailer. The hurricane will tear through existing maps like Spaceport, creating the game's most hazardous environment yet.
How the hurricane changes gameplay
Players will have to fight with and against powerful winds that directly impact movement and combat. Running with the storm provides a small speed boost, while moving against it slows you down and drains stamina.
Visibility will be severely reduced, and players must also avoid flying debris. The wind will alter the trajectory of throwable items, including:
- Gas grenades
- Trailblazers
- Other projectiles
As with other severe map conditions, the increased risk comes with greater reward. Embark teases that Raider Caches and relics of the First Wave will be available for those who brave the storm.
Shrouded Sky update details
This is Embark's major February update, following January's smaller Headwinds drop. Shrouded Sky is packed with more significant content, including:
- A new Raider Deck system
- A map update
- A new Arc threat
- A full rank reset with the new Expedition starting February 25
The update continues the studio's aggressive live-service roadmap. This follows the game's successful launch, which has reportedly sold 14 million copies and provided the studio with significant financial security.
What's next for Arc Raiders
The roadmap promises two more major updates in the coming months. The Flashpoint update in March will introduce another new map condition.
Following that, the Riven Tides update in April will headline with a brand-new map for players to raid. The studio is also continuing its efforts to combat cheating, issuing warnings and suspensions to players who use in-game exploits.
